These white plastic posts, often called mushroom posts, measure 1 1/2" in diameter and are 3" long.
They help provide a trim and expedient means of threading jumper wires or cable on a backboard. The wiring is held neatly in place by the top rim of the post and allows rapid and easy access in the event of change. Although not necessary for single block installation, mushroom posts are definitely needed for multiple block installation.
