The purpose of this device is to make a longer USB connection (up to 150 feet.) If you have a USB device that is over 10 to 15 feet away, then this would allow you run it. Think of this as simple a very long USB cable.
The long cable will actually be one of these adapters at each end and a standard Cat 5 or Cat 6 patch cable in between. You will need to purchase the length of patch cable that want to use.
Standard USB cables are not designed to go long distances.
